A quick flick to accompany the Pygmy Beat song.
Gerry Steele played the superb solo & RAMI plays the skin tight kit.
I tried to post the lyrics but I seemed to be unable to do so without messing everything up.

Who, when, where, why, how & what?

The PYGMY BEAT collective began life as a trio with John Toomey on skins & tins. Terry plays flute, saxophone, Rhodes piano and performs the vocals. Ray plays bass, guitar, cello, mandolin, dobro, banjo, assorted junk and pushes buttons. ............................................................................................................
Lyrically the songs reflect trade unionist and humanist themes though a couple are about old relationships. .............................................................................................................
MIRIAM & I: Ray started taking ‘cello lessons with Miriam Webb. They began to record as Miriam & I, writing Sandpaper Castles 1811, Sandpaper Reggae, Silent Waltz and the instrumental of Gimli’s Lament using Miriam’s melodies. Miriam's lovely ‘cello work is a foil for Ray’s poor ‘cello playing and minor chord obsessions. ............................................................................................................
Ray posts songs on the MP3 Mixing Clinic of Homerecording BBS to "workshop" the mixes. It was through this forum collaborators have been found including Canadians RAMI - musician/producer/songwriter & Gerry Steele - writer/performer, Texan Greg Loycano - musician/producer/songwriter, Belgian musician/producer/songwriter/film maker Marc Cornelis and Maltese musician/producer/songwriter Joe Mizzi. ............................................................................................................
Newer tracks have been recorded with LOST LETTERS and a male vocal for GIMLI'S LAMENT completed as well as CAFE' OCEANIC (with a surprise solo) & WAH WOW (But Is It Art?). AFTER THE BURNING is now complete. Gimli's Lament has recently be augmented with a female counter melody care of Kim .............................................................................................................
SEWER/NIGHT OUT was enhanced by Marc's guitar lines & synths as well as drums by Greg L. JANGLETHING/EYES WIRED OPEN is a folkier peice about bipolar suffers with a stinging solo by Gerry. KENNEDY AVALON is a new track with keyboard & processed guitars by Marc once again. Greg Loycano provides the superb percussion and Gerry Steele dropped in a brilliant solo. .............................................................................................................
Videos have been done & posted for SOLONG SHUFFLE as well as MERCEDES No 1, REVOLUTION BLUES, WAH WOW (But Is It Art?), SOFTDANCE, KENNEDY AVALON, SEWER/NIGHT OUT, EYES WIRED OPEN, AFTER THE BURNING and A PATCH OF GROUND. All can be found on Youtube. There're also a vids of MIRIAM & I songs - SANDPAPER CASTLES & SILENT WALTZ. There's also a video of the rerecorded WHISPER with actual footage of ray, Eric & images of the newest vocalist Lifelyrics...................................................................................... Terrific news -with key collaborator from the 70's, Eric Drabwell, we've revisiting the primitive recordings made in '76 & '77. A new mix of Whisper is available with Eric playing 12 string acoustic and electric lead guitars. Terry & ray have a couple of new ones in the works so stay close. Eric & ray have a new one in the works called Canon Fodder. The backing is almost done & now we're just getting it together to complete the vocals &some decorations....
THANATOGENOUS is the latest song by Pygmy Beat Augmented. With collaborators Gerry Steele on lead guitar, Greg Loyacano on Drums and Joe Mizzi providing vocals and melody this song is a continuation of the change of direction for Pygmy Beat. The backing has the almost signature PB elements of drones, jangles and lots of tracks though a distorted guitar is more prominent this time. The song is given added gravitas by Gerry & Greg both of whom have featured on the last few Pygmy Beat tracks. The big shock, for those who know PB, is the vocal style, presence and melody Joe brings to the recent pieces. The latest track by the gentlemen above is a progression from Haemophiliac Heroes & The Master. A very enjoyable process of writing, recording and mixing with a crew of incredibly talented and productive indivuduals. Track four from this combo is about to begin its development.
